Sometimes using WiFi transfer file wirelessly from PC to SD card in Android device is more simple and ideal than connecting data cable, especially for the occasion when you want to transfer a couple of files only.

Before going through file transfer via WiFi, please make a folder readable by other devices under same local network:

  1. Go to Properties of the folder you want to share.
  2. In the Sharing tab, click Share button.
  3. Click on the drop-down list, select Everyone and click Add button.
  4. Set Permission Level as Read for the group of Everyone and click Share button.
  5. The Network Path of your shared folder is all set.

Without root permissions, ES File Explorer will pop up a message «Please choose the root directory sdcard1(/storage/sdcard1) of ext-SDCard to grant ES permission to operate» if we are trying to move the file to another directory within SD card storage. The workaround is we have to use native pre-installed File Manager to move files from SD card > Android > data > com.estrongs.android.pop > files to another directory within the SD card without restrictions. Tested on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3: The Mi File Explorer works like a charm.

Issue Moving Files to SD Card issue on MI phone using ES File explorer

ES File Explorer is probably the most popular Android File Manager for Android devices. It has many advanced features than a regular file manager. That is why it is loved by many who want more features. However, on Mi Phones, you may encounter issues when attempting to transfer files from the phone storage to SD CARD using ES File Explorer. I did not do an extensive research on this but I can confirm that this issues did not occur on MiUi version earlier than 7.5. I started to see file transfer issues after MIUI version 7.5. This prevents us from creating new files and folders using the ES File Explorer. While attempting to create, copy-paste or move files, we normally get a prompt to allow permission to let ES File Explorer have to access SDCARD Root. In this post, we shall see how to resolve this problem of transferring, creating files and folder using ES File Explorer.


Here is what the prompt says when attempting to transfer files using ES File Explorer to SD CARD:

Please choose the root directory ‘SDCARD NAME’ of Ext-SD Card to grant ES Permission to operate

As explained in the video, the steps to resolve the issue of file transfer on MI Phones using ES File Explorer is by enabling «documents» under «installed apps» in Settings, and enabling access to the root directory of the SD Card in ES File Explorer. After which, you should be able to transfer or move files to the SD Card. Detailed steps are given below:

  • First, open settings on the Mi Phone, then navigate to «Installed Apps»
  • In «Installed Apps», find «Documents» and tap «Enable»
  • After enabling «documents», go back to ES File Explorer
  • Try to copy a file from internal memory to SD CARD
  • When the prompt appears again, tap menu and select the root of the SD Card

If in case you do not see «Documents» under «Installed Apps», it is probably hidden from view. In which case, tap on the menu (three vertical dots), and then select «Show All Apps». You should now be able to see «Documents». You may sort the list of apps by «App Name» for easier find or use the search option.

  • This solution is particular to Mi Phone and ES File Explorer. I am not sure if ES File Explorer throws this prompt on other phones. MiUi version as on the date of making this video is 7.5 (Stable).
  • You might need to do the same process if your have inserted another SD Card or while attempting to transfer files to pen drives plugged in to the phone via OTG.

Ну показывает 1280+720, на моё телике(IZUMI) норм. Видимо китаец китайца хорошо принял)

Проверил при смене разрешения в прошивке телик показал 1080 значит реальное.

В аиде вранье так как буилддроп конфиг можно вертеть как хочешь.А он берет большую часть данных от туда. Так же как у меня знакомый купил айфон 6 на ведре написано 128 гигов и кучу всего бла бла..

если это после изменения рендеринга Андроида в 1920×1080 через Терминал, то сообщите родная ли прошивка, какой версии, какая модификация бокса ?

После не удачной прошивки бокс завис в режим сна( горит красный и синий) на какие либо манипуляции не реагирует. покупал в августе. Плата удешевленная

ты несешь хрень полную, эта тема тут обсуждалась и заездили ее по полной, приставка работает на разрешении 1280х720 пикселей, в настройке прошивки изменяется только разрешение видеовыхода (до какого растянуть или сжать HD разрешение), не нужно путать людей.
Толстенький запили патч решающий проблему и переводящий девайс в реальное разрешение 1920×1080, а потом r1kaomsk запилил прошивку от 10.08 с разрешением 1080p.
p.s. Поставил прошивку от r1kaomsk 10.08, все пашет отлично

p.s. Поставил прошивку от r1kaomsk 10.08, все пашет отлично

А KODI как себя ведет или не пользуете? Да все работает ,но KODI отваливается.
Заметил стабильно хорошо только на порт SuperCeleron.

Не отваливается больше, тестили недавно. Тот коди который в этой прошивке стоит работает норм.

Вчера через раз запустил,а сейчас эфект 0.Утром хоть уведомление было-приложение не отвечает.
А сейчас даже не запустить.
Заметил на FHD прошивках и HD c патчем от Толстенького.
А на порт SuperCeleron твой с реальным разрешением 720p очень стабильно.

Залил прошивку для удешевленной на 1080p. Теперь встала без всяких проблем. До этого менял разрешение по инструкции от nessy74, возникали некоторые проблемы, типа черных квадратов вместо Preview в недавних приложениях. Теперь такого не наблюдается, конечно. Отличная прошивка, спасибо. Kodi отваливается, но это не проблема, его можно поставить заново и он начинает работать.

По умолчанию стоит там коди 18 альфа 1, проигрыватель на ней не стартует, удалил и поставил 17.4, работает отлично

В Google play мало приложений доступно, Firefox тот же не установить. Правка build.prop поможет? Что поменять?

Нет, нужно файлики подкидывать в /etc, если хотите можно сразу встроить в прошивку этот мод

да, вполне возможно, может еще где-то что-то поганое вылезет.
это потому что некоторые системные функции прошивки по прежнему корректно работают только при рендеринге Андроида в 1280×720, поэтому я там в инструкции и указал возможность как откатиться обратно на режим 1280×720, возможно кому-то важней будет скриншоты снимать и превьюшки открытых приложений смотреть, чем иметь на Ютубе качество роликов 1080p.
